Kintsugi Asa

Kintsugi Asa is a Tokyo-based Kintsugi artist. Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese technique to fix chipped or broken ceramics with lacquer and cover the surface with different metal materials. This technique, developed in Japanese tea ceremony culture, which values a beauty in the imperfect, has been accepted as a form of art that adds a new value to broken ceramics, rather than a mere way of repairing. Kintsugi Asa mainly works on repairing of handmade works by professional ceramicists. She gives beloved one-of-a-kind ceramics a new life with a beautiful finish, and turns them into even more special pieces of collection. The materials she uses for repairing are all natural ingredients and safe to use with food as well.
