Kayo SUZUKI

Kayo Suzuki is a potter based in Tokyo. She creates sculptures, clocks, tableware, and flower vases.  The lovable animal and human figures of her works are reminiscent of children’s illustrated books, and also suggest the existence of real characters or stories behind them. Abstract figures on her colourful tableware and flower vases of unusual shapes add cheerfulness to the user’s everyday life. Alongside the production of her own ceramics, Kayo has been organising a number of pottery workshops for both adults and children. Kayo’s unique perspective to appreciate the creativity of pottery both in professional and non-professional contexts has developed through her experience of teaching students in these workshops.
