Kumiko YADA

Kumiko Yada worked as a a lecturer at design school before studying ceramics in the town of Arita in Saga Prefecture, known for producing one of the Japan’s most traditional crafts, Arita-Yaki.
From her studio near Izumiyama-Jisyakujyou, the birthplace of porcelain in Japan, she produces ceramics that are very smooth and comfortable in the hand.

Made from pure white porcelain, she uses an original technique to freehand paint her works with colourful flowers and plants, from the real world and her own imagination.

Her delicate watercolour-like touch is a unique style and expression that she has developed in her own way.
The world she creates will gently add colour to your life.
