Nobuyuki Ishioka’s ceramic works are simple and clean, but also have a sense of warmth. The soft and roundish shapes are friendly and inviting. Nobuyuki usually employs single-colour glazing and a simple and reserved way of decor such as framing, stripes, and line carving so that it conforms with the shapes of each works. As he says “I would like to be producing tableware that fits in everyday life”, Nobuyuki, a true craftsman-type artist, values a balance between his own particular taste and utility of his ceramics.
